The first phone to use Android is the HTC Dream, also known as the HTC G1. It was released in October 2008 and was the first device to run Google’s Android operating system. The HTC G1 featured a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a touchscreen display, and access to the Android Market (now known as the Google Play Store).
