How do I completely start my iPhone?

If you’re looking to completely restart your iPhone, you can perform a hard reset or a simple restart. Here are the steps for both methods depending on your iPhone model:

For iPhone 8 and later (iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, 14, etc.):

  1. Press and hold the Volume Up button quickly, then release it.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Down button quickly, then release it.
  3. Press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears, then release the button.

For iPhone 7 and 7 Plus:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Sleep/Wake (Side) button at the same time.
  2. Keep holding both buttons until you see the Apple logo, then release.

For iPhone 6s and earlier (iPhone SE, 5s, 5, and earlier models):

  1. Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake (Top) button simultaneously.
  2. Keep holding both buttons until you see the Apple logo, then release.

To Completely Power Off Your iPhone:

  1. Press and hold the Side button and either Volume button until the power off slider appears.
  2. Slide to power off.
  3. To turn your iPhone back on, press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears.
