Method 1: Using Recovery Mode

  1. Connect iPhone to Your Computer:
    • Use a USB cable to connect your iPhone to a computer with iTunes (on Windows or older macOS) or Finder (on macOS Catalina and later).
  2. Put Your iPhone into Recovery Mode:
    • For iPhone 8 and later: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button, press and quickly release the Volume Down button, then press and hold the Side button until you see the recovery mode screen.
    • For iPhone 7 and 7 Plus: Press and hold the Volume Down and the Side (or Power) button at the same time until you see the recovery mode screen.
    • For iPhone 6s and earlier: Press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Power) button simultaneously until you see the recovery mode screen.
  3. Restore Your iPhone:

    • The computer will download software for your device. If it takes more than 15 minutes, your iPhone may exit recovery mode, and you’ll need to repeat steps 2-3.
  4. Set Up Your iPhone:

Method 2: Using Find My iPhone (iCloud)
