How to reset Samsung Galaxy?

Resetting your Samsung Galaxy device can be done in different ways, depending on what kind of reset you want to perform (soft reset, factory reset, etc.). Below are the steps for both types of resets:

Soft Reset

A soft reset is simply restarting your device. This can help resolve minor issues without deleting any data.

  1. Press and hold the Power button (some models may require holding the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously).
  2. When the Power menu appears, select Restart.
  3. Confirm if necessary, and your device will reboot.

Factory Reset (Hard Reset)

A factory reset will erase all data on your device, returning it to its original factory settings. Make sure to back up your data before proceeding.

Method 1: Using Settings

  1. Open the Settings app on your Galaxy device.
  2. Scroll down and tap on General Management.
  3. Tap on Reset.
  4. Choose Factory data reset.
  5. Read the information presented and tap Reset.
  6. If prompted, enter your PIN, password, or pattern to confirm.
  7. Tap Delete all to complete the reset process.

Method 2: Using Hardware Keys (if the device is unresponsive or you cannot access the settings)

  1. Power off your device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power button (on some models, you may also need to hold the Bixby button).
  3. Once the Samsung logo appears, release all buttons.
  4. Use the Volume buttons to navigate to Wipe data/factory reset in the Recovery Mode menu.
  5. Press the Power button to select.
  6. Navigate to Yes and confirm by pressing the Power button again.
  7. After the reset is complete, select Reboot system now.

Important Notes

  • Back Up Your Data: A factory reset will delete all your data, including apps, contacts, and settings. Make sure you have a backup of your important information.
  • Remove Google Accounts: Before performing a factory reset, consider removing your Google account from the device to avoid any issues with Factory Reset Protection.

If you encounter any issues during these processes, refer to the Samsung support website or contact customer service for assistance.
